Trump is going to have to walk a thin line between destroying Iran’s military capabilities and destroying critical infrastructure that the civilian population depends upon for everyday use. Probably over half of the country wants the Islamic radicals out of power but they have no means to throw them out. If he destroys too much of the civilian infrastructure and starts making life hard for regular Iranians, he risks the chance of turning them against the U.S. and our goals to free Iran. This is what happened in Iraq. Widespread destruction of critical infrastructure turned otherwise neutral Iraqis into anti-Americans because we were blowing up everything that they depended upon for everyday life.
