First, your word – or your neighbor’s word – wasn’t enough to say you’d been born here, so registered with birth certificates at the driver’s license office. Then that wasn’t good enough, so we got Real ID, which had so many glitches it was all but useless. So now we need passports? When somebody decides that’s not good enough, what’s next? A tattoo on your arm?
Oh, and because passports and certified copies of things cost money, this is a Poll Tax. Which is no longer legal under the Constitution.
This is absurd. The Heritage Foundation (you know, the Project 2025 people who want to stop women, and all poor or dark-skinned people, from voting) commissioned studies TRYING to find fraudulent votes. Out of 30 years of elections – billions of votes – they found 77. (Of which the majority were Republicans, but never mind that.) You want to talk about the Federal government wasting money? Got that right here, pal, it’s called SAVE Act.
Real ID has never been enacted, so how can you say it failed?
You don’t need a passport if you have a enhanced drivers license, which is easy to get with a few documents everyone should have, or be able to get. I have one, it wasn’t a big deal.
