I am of Irish descent—my family came from Ireland. My ancestors never owned slaves. They were poor immigrants who struggled greatly, often living in conditions not far removed from servitude themselves. I have never hired a professional house cleaner, and I am not racist. I am already struggling to pay the taxes I owe now. I do not believe I personally owe reparations to anyone. I have never received any help or handouts in my own difficult life.
