In 1985 I was deployed to Hormuz during the tanker wars during the Iran and Iraq War. That went on from 1984 to 1988. Over 400 ships were attacked in addition to oil platforms and Kharg Island. I remember getting home and people telling me they hadn’t even heard of what was going on over there. Now we have people complaining about the current conflict going on for months and how that is too long. People have no historical context. Everyone wants an Easy Button
