Even if there had been a policeman INSIDE the church building—The problem here is that the shooter was OUTSIDE the church and shot THROUGH the stained glass windows.
Who in this world would even think that somebody would do such an evil thing? Those of us raised with respect to Churches would never even think that such a thing could happen. Now we know better–too late we now know better! GOD help us!
