Exactly. There’s a lot that doesn’t make sense.
In the modern times wherever you live you need speak the language to become part of the working society. When you enter a country illegally, you are a criminal. Now that your own country will not accept you back, you are sent to a country that will accept you. When you arrive it is your job to learn the language in order to become citizen of that country and find a job in order to survive and make a life for yourself.
In America during the turn of the 19th Century thousands of Europeans came to America, many through Ellis Island. They joined the workforce and learned English, raised Families and made life for themselves. It was not easy but they did it and were successful the Legal Way and without Welfare Programs. My Grandparents came from Poland in about 1910 and did well al the way through WWI & WWII and beyond until they passed away. Our Family and many Families did the same. In today’s world it appears that the Third world Immigrants does do it that way. Just look at the previous Administration which allowed the Illegal Immigrant Invasion and we the Tax Payer fund this ridiculous Welfare Scheme. The bottom line is that there are consequences to actions.
All those in ice detention can at anytime choose to self deport. There is a button to push in every center for use at any time before your final flight out. They will be given $3000 and flown wherever they want to go if they push the button. If they refuse, oh well. If their own country won’t accept them back, they go wherever will take them. It’s all about choices. You choose to come here illegally. You choose to not accept a generous offer to leave peacably to anywhere in the world. That only leaves one choice left.
And I’m 8th generation owning our family homestead. My ancestors came here from europe the legal way. They BOUGHT our parcel of land from the local native Americans. Everyone found a way to communicate. Imagine that. Both sides put forth some effort and it worked. They lived in harmony side by side for many years. They shared food, hunting & farming techniques, uses for various native plants, etc. Each taught the other what they knew and shared what they had. Everyone got along as neighbors and friends. All the kids played together. Different cultures, but mutual respect. Something very rare these days.
There should be some sort of (State Dept. or U.N. or Hague) agreement between America and their place of origin countries whereby they must be deported back to their ancestral home countries. Never to some different, irrelevant type of country/continent. I think the amount offered to self deport was $1,000. Did they think Trump was joking? Did they think they could ignore Trump’s offer and directives?
Yes. I am an immigrant. It took six years to be invited to the USA. As immigrants, who entered legally, we were welcomed by America. Thank you. I am a citizen, a navy veteran, and a Civil Service retiree. An ILLEGAL alien can leave without consequences. If deported, an ILLEGAL alien has few options. A law officer, who shoots anyone, without justification, should be sanctioned. Beyond that, I have no regard for the well-being of ILLEGAL aliens.

The 1st law they broke was to enter the country uninvited and sneakily.
The 2nd law they broke was not reporting to court as determined by the “catch and release” directives.
Have Latin American countries learned their lesson? Has Uncle Sam learned its lesson? Trump will correct it all because he is firm, intelligent and responsible.
Hopefully all parties can learn a lesson from the bad policies of the previous administrations. For example:
1. No open borders & mass immigration
2. No “catch & release”
3. No placing kids in holding cages
4. No “accidental” citizen killings by ICE
5. No deporting to irrelevant countries
