Just a correction. Scalping was started by the French to keep track of how many Natives they killed. Horses were brought to America by the Spanish. The Natives adopted the scalping practice. Were they brutal? Yes. Were white pioneers and soldiers equally brutal? Yes. White committed genocide to extinguish these violent tribes that couldn’t get along with each other. If they had been able to get along join forces we wouldn’t have stood a chance. And giving credit where credit is due, Indians pretty much invented modern day farming and fertilization practices. They might not have discovered the wheel but they were physically cleaner for sure. Pioneers brought diseases.
